ACA Marketplace Plans in Safety Harbor

We start by looking at what you have now, what you earn and which doctors you use. Then we tell you plainly what we found and show you Marketplace plans that fit. The consultation is free, and enrollment help costs you nothing.

Marketplace plans explained, and who they suit

Florida residents buy ACA Marketplace coverage through the federal exchange. All of these plans include the same essential benefits, among them doctor visits, hospital care, maternity care and preventive care. A health condition can't get you refused or raise what you pay.

The main reason people sign up is the premium tax credit. When your income lands in the qualifying range for your family size, the government covers a share of the monthly premium. Freelancers, people between jobs, early retirees and workers with no employer plan are often surprised by how little they end up paying.

We look at your numbers and the coverage you hold today before recommending anything. A Marketplace plan is sometimes the best choice. Other times our Individual Health Insurance or Family Health Insurance options are a better match, and we will tell you so.

What our help includes

A review of your current coverage
We look at your present plan, what you pay and what it leaves out. You get a plain summary of what we found before we show you a single new option.
A tax credit estimate
We work through your expected income and family size to estimate your credit. We also explain what happens if your income changes during the year, so tax time holds no surprises.
Doctor and medication checks
Networks vary a lot from plan to plan. We confirm your doctors, nearby hospitals and the medications you take are covered before you pick.
Metal tier comparison
Bronze, silver, gold and platinum plans trade a lower premium for a higher deductible, or the other way around. We lay them side by side with real numbers for how you use care.
Enrollment and follow-up
We help you finish the application and choose your plan. If you get a letter asking for income or citizenship documents, call us and we will walk you through it.

When a Marketplace check makes sense

  • You lost your work coverage

Losing an employer plan generally opens a 60-day special enrollment period. If it passes, you may be uninsured until open enrollment comes around again.

  • Your premium rose at renewal

Each year brings new plans and new prices. Last year's pick may no longer suit you.

  • You started working for yourself

Plenty of freelancers and new business owners pay the full premium, unaware a credit may apply. A short look at your income answers the question.

  • Your family situation shifted

Marrying, divorcing, having a baby or a child aging off your coverage can change your choices and your credit.

  • The deductible keeps you from care

If up-front costs stop you from seeing a doctor, another tier or a silver plan with extra cost savings could help.

How it works when you call

  1. 1

    We ask, then listen

We talk through your income, who needs coverage, your doctors and your medications. This happens by phone, by video or at our office.

  2. 2

    We check and report back

We look at your current plan and estimate your tax credit. Then we tell you what we found in plain words, including if you are already in a good spot.

  3. 3

We compare plans side by side

You see a few plans from different carriers with premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket limits next to each other. We point out the tradeoffs and let you choose.

  4. 4

    We help you enroll

We help you complete the application and confirm your plan start date. After that, you can call us with questions during the year.

What drives a Marketplace plan's price

You pay nothing for our consultation. We're paid by the carrier you enroll with, so the review and enrollment help are free to you. A handful of things decide what the plan costs, and we walk through each one together.

Family size and income
Your tax credit rests on these two figures. Even a modest shift in expected earnings can move the credit, so we build the estimate with care.
Tobacco and age
Older adults can be charged more, and plans may add a surcharge for tobacco users.
Metal tier
Bronze costs least each month but carries the biggest deductible. Gold and platinum charge more monthly and less at the doctor's office.
Your county
Carriers and prices change from county to county. What's offered in Pinellas may differ from the plans across the bay.
Type of network
Narrower networks often cost less. We make sure that tradeoff still works for the doctors you see.

Common Marketplace plan questions

Something not covered here? (727) 761-4591

When am I allowed to enroll?

The open enrollment window usually opens November 1 and closes January 15. The rest of the year, you need a qualifying life event, like losing other coverage, moving, marrying or having a child. Let us know what happened and we'll tell you if it qualifies.

Will I pay more if I enroll with your help?

No. A plan costs the same whether you use us or not. We're paid by the carrier you pick, so you owe us nothing.

What happens if my income goes up or down mid-year?

Update it quickly. Earning more than your estimate can mean paying back some of the credit when you file. Earning less can raise your credit. We'll help you make the change.

Should I avoid bronze plans?

Not necessarily. If you're healthy and seldom visit a doctor, bronze can work well. With ongoing prescriptions or scheduled care, a silver or gold plan often comes out cheaper for the year. We price it both ways for you.

Will my doctor still be covered?

That comes down to each plan's network. We look up your doctors and hospitals ahead of enrollment so nothing surprises you later.
